Alright…it was SO difficult to narrow down photos for this post!! That usually happens when working with the O’Malley Photographers and this couple is not only stunning but they are pretty much family 🙂 This was such a special Summer day in Chicago. It was our third and final Chicago wedding for 2021 (here are the first and second ones!) – we were so lucky to be there so often and each of our couples brought us to different and amazing parts of the city. For this August day, we started at Nobu Hotel in the West Loop. The bride and groom live in the city so they wanted to incorporate the city setting in the first part of the day (and hosted their after party in the West Loop as well!) before moving out to the suburbs for their Ceremony & Reception.

Em + Tom hosted guests at the beautiful Medinah Country Club where Em’s family has so much history – Em’s parents and both of her mom’s sisters were married here. Those family wedding portraits sat on the mantel in the cocktail hour and bar space which was such a special touch for guests to see. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect – it was a hot one but after a quick passing rain, the skies were clear and it was exactly what you could hope for in the Summer. And that post-ceremony golden glow was seriously so, so good!

For the reception, we moved into the historic ballroom. Can you get over the ceiling design and stunning velvet drapes? Em used this space as the foundation for her wedding design – tying in the green to the girls dresses and soft pinks from the ceiling to the flowers done beautifully by Avant Gardenia.

Once dinner was complete, guests enjoyed a serious dance party thanks to DJ Megan Taylor. Megan has done several weddings within Em + Tom’s friend group which made her presence even more special. She even brought out a saxophone to accompany her for the end of the evening which was a huge hit.

Em + Tom – thank you so much for trusting us with your special day. It was such an honor to be there with you, with both families, and all of your friends. It was such a happy and wonderful day and I’ll always remember just how joyful everyone was to be there, celebrating your new beginning. And the glow that you two had!! Seriously will never forget the smiles that you wore from start to finish.
