Last Spring we were able to get some of my favorite local vendors together for an editorial at The Mount in the Berkshires. Something that had been in the works for over a year but, like many things, continued to be postponed (although that led us to one of my favorite backyard projects while we waited which was a special one!)

When we were finally able to get the entire team back together, we packed up and went to to Lenox, MA to shoot at one of the most stunning properties in New England. The Mount was built by Edith Wharton and the grounds that the home sits on are incredibly stunning. The entire setting is something that you must see to believe and I encourage anyone coming to the area, when it’s in-season, to walk the grounds and tour the home.

At The Mount, we used the Courtyard as our Reception setting. This space is one of the most magical settings for dinner. The grandeur of the house while you’re seated for dinner is truly remarkable. I wanted to focus the design on the Spring season, colors, and blossoms. Elizabeth from Ailish Floral really brought that colorful and vibrant vision to life with her incredible floral selections and design. The cherry blossoms were something we all really wanted but the timing was questionable so when she opened the back of the truck and we saw the beautiful branches – it was such an amazing surprise. Austin carried those beautiful florals through to the unique and beautiful cake design. Laura brought a traditional and beautiful gown for Leah to wear and we added the largest crinoline she could find 🙂 Alex created two different looks for our beautiful bride – traditional for the ceremony with the stunning layered veil and more romantic for the reception. Sara’s romantic and classic stationery fit the setting so perfect. We added video this year (check it out below!) and Maisie was the perfect addition to the team. And of course – the photos captured by Michelle are always next level – I feel so lucky to be able to work with her so regularly as the images are always some of my favorites.
