This Spring I had the pleasure of heading South to visit a few of my favorite wedding venues. This site inspection tour was done for 2020 & future client’s weddings. Part of what is included in Full-Service Design and Planning is venue sourcing and recommendations. When clients come without a wedding venue chosen, it’s the perfect opportunity for me to offer recommendations of sites that will be a great fit – for their dream day and for their guest’s experience. Every couple is so different so part of my job is to familiarize myself with as many of these luxury properties that I can – in person, with my own two eyes. I want to see the space, see guest rooms, understand the feel of the property, and meet the staff. This allows me to be able to give my clients my honest opinion and feel completely confident in recommendations.

The first property I visited was the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island. I can’t say enough about the staff – the ladies were so wonderful…I didn’t want the day to end. I enjoyed the spa (absolutely incredible), had a cocktail and sushi while getting to know more about the property, and then toured the hotel. Unfortunately, I was having SUCH a great time, I didn’t take too many photos but the Ocean Views, superior service, and options onsite for both ceremony and reception were endless! My second stop was Montage Palmetto Bluff. I have been here before and seriously can’t get enough. It will go down as one of my favorite places ever (Want to know my favorite places? I’ll tell you….Montage Palmetto Bluff / Zero George / Ranch at Laguna Beach / 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge…as a starting point!) I had the best time getting to know Shannan as she toured me around this insane property. My favorite part of Palmetto Bluff is how everyone stays on property – it really feels like you have the whole resort full of your loved ones. In addition, there are so many spaces and venues to use that each wedding feels completely unique based on the spaces you choose to utilize. A really amazing place to create the Southern Wedding of your dreams.

 

 

My third and final stop was at Sea Island. I stayed at the Lodge at Sea Island and toured the Cloister at Sea Island. There were so many ceremony and reception options at Sea Island – once again, this really lends itself to creating a special wedding because no two events there have to run in exactly the same way. What is also unique at the Cloister is that you have options for River views or Coastal views for your wedding – incredible!  The trend continued as I met the sweetest people and was so appreciative of their hospitality throughout my stay. Also, the Bagpiper that plays the golf course to sleep each night is honestly magical.

 

 

What was universal across each site was the incredible hospitality and service, as well as the stunning spaces for weddings to be held. All three would be amazing destinations to host your wedding as everyone could stay on property together, increasing the amount of celebrating time!
