In May, we should have been in Italy celebrating Emily + Ryan. But you know how that story goes! So instead, they decided to keep their original wedding weekend and get married with a very small group of family and friends in their home city of Chicago. It was so, so special and made everyone even more excited for Italy 2022. That will now be more of a vow renewal but the Tuscan Wedding WILL happen and it WILL be wonderful too!

The Chicago Wedding Reception took place at The Langham with a Ceremony in Lincoln Park at the infamous Honeycomb on the Nature Boardwalk. On a personal note, I was so excited to be back in Chicago so soon after the Spring Dalcy Wedding – I love Chicago, used to live there, and actually worked in the same building that the Langham is in! Talk about a full circle moment, looking out on the River – the same view I once had working in association meeting planning.

The weather could not have been more perfect. One of those days where the sky is completely blue, not a cloud to be found, warm and sunny and such a dream for an outdoor ceremony in Lincoln Park. With a small guest list of their nearest and dearest, Emily and Ryan said their vows with the city skyline in the background. It was a special and beautiful way to officially begin their married life together, even if it looked a little different from the original Italian plan.

After the Ceremony, everyone was back at the Langham, overlooking the River and the City for cocktails, an incredible dinner, and a little dancing. The energy was amazing – everyone so thrilled to be celebrating these two and making the absolute most out of “Plan B”. It has to be one of the most beautiful second option weddings that could have ever been created!

Emily + Ryan – you created such a beautiful and meaningful day for your family and friends. Surrounded by such a special group and so much love, I look forward to doing this all again in just 5 months!!
