Today, I’ve put together a list of recently, and frequently, asked questions that are helpful for soon to be brides. It’s kind of a hodge-podge of questions with a lot of ideas for sources, so I hope this will help you to get your ideas flowing!

Q: What are your favorite sources for bridesmaids dresses when your ladies live all over the country?

A: Nordstrom (large gown selection with a range of prices, free shipping & returns), Show Me Your Mumu (such a wide variety of colors and styles), ASOS (really reasonable), Jenny Yoo (tons of styles and colors and is carried by lots of bridal shops and Nordstrom).

Q: Looking for ideas for getting ready outfits – for the bride and the bridesmaids.

A: Love Ophelia is a favorite source – check out this sweet white personalized robe, Printed Robe Sets for the Ladies, and Romper sets (they make ordering for a group super simple!). Otherwise I think cute PJ sets are always a good idea (and something your gals will love and appreciate later!) check out this Splendid Shortie Set and Moonlight Short Pajamas (these are my all-time favorite pajamas – so worth it!),

Q: What is the best way to clean my diamond ring?

A: There are so many cute tools out there that are great on the go (think the Bling Brush for one). But the best way to get sparkly diamonds at home? Dawn Soap and a toothbrush. Yup! Put a little dawn on the toothbrush, run your ring under cold water, brush, and leave on a towel to dry. Keep a mini dawn soap and toothbrush under your bathroom sink and see results right away without any of the build-up some cleaners can leave on your ring.

Q: What should our response date be on our wedding invitations?

A: Etiquette states 4 weeks or one month prior is standard. I would suggest pushing this back to 6-8 weeks prior. The biggest reason for this is that your guest count impacts everything! Most orders (think rentals, food and beverage, florals, etc.) will be impacted by your numbers. Many venues are requesting that final information be collected one month prior (and then updated in the weeks leading up) so you need some time to get the count in, reach out to those who haven’t responded, update your orders, and have your planner adjust the logistics documents accordingly. One month prior is also when you’ll have a lot of final payments due. Having a few extra weeks to better understand what your actual totals are going to be, is helpful for everyone!

Q: Groomsmen’s suits – where do we find these!

A: Ok, not quite a question for the Bride but let’s be real, sometimes the guys need a little guidance. One my favorite tips is to use Express for Groomsmen suits. They are slim fit (variety of cuts available), there are stores everywhere (great for groups all over the place), and they are incredibly reasonable. There are always sales that you can take advantage of! Gone are the days of wearing oversized tuxes that don’t fit properly. Suit Supply and The Black Tux are also great options that I’ve had success with lately. And for ties? Tie Bar all the way. If you don’t live in a city with a retail location, order a few, take a look at them with the suits and send back the options you don’t like. They also have a ton of accessories (cufflinks, tie bars, suspenders, pocket squares, etc.) And lastly – they have recent collaborations with BHLDN & Show Me Your Mumu as well as color matching for Jenny Yoo, David’s Bridal, and more for the perfect match.
